Our solution helps radiologist, breast surgeon, plastic surgeon with MMG and US images for identifying the various breast implant types ( texture or smooth ) and complications such as rupture, thickened capsule related with capsular contracture.
W Expert is the world 1st breast implant diagnosing AI program.
Currently,
The investigational version of W Expert is used in
20 breast clinics in Korea.

We are developing 15 Algorithms with US images and video. W Expert helps identifying the 5 breast implants information and 9 breast implant related complications. Breast implant ultrasonography is the most easy, fast and best way to check the breast implant type and complications such as rupture.
This is the actual usage screen of W Expert.
W Expert was developed with 1.5million US images and show over 95% accuracy in various US machines.
Many breast surgeon have wanted to be aided to diagnose the breast implant related complications such as rupture capsular contracture with ultrasonography.
I was surprised by the accuracy for identifying the implant rupture. Silicone breast implant rupture diagnosis is not easy. There are so many complications mimics implant rupture. Thickened capsule, periprosthetic fluid, severe folding, upside-down rotation should be differentiated with rupture. W Expert has novelty and great performance for differentiating these various complications.
Although breast implants are developed for the women’s aesthetics and reconstructive surgery since 1960s, there are many complications such as BIA-ALCL, ruptures, capsular contractures. Ultrasonography is the cost-effective diagnostic imaging modality after the implant-based mammaplasty. But breast implant ultrasonography is not easy to most breast surgeon due to lack of experience. W Expert is the AI program for solving the real-world problem.
It has been 30 years since I started a breast clinic. I have extensive experience for diagnosing the breast cancer, but still I have a difficulty for diagnosing breast implant related complications with accuracy. I found the missed case of rupture during investigational W Expert AI program trial. I think ‘W Expert’ is the future of breast implant monitoring ecosystem.

Check for implant rupture along with breast cancer screening. While saline implant rupture can be detected through a decrease in breast volume, silicone implant rupture is often asymptomatic and requires ultrasound or MRI for detection. If silicone rupture is left untreated for a long time, the silicone can infiltrate the capsule, breast tissue, and lymph nodes, potentially increasing the extent of corrective surgery needed and hindering a quick recovery.
Are you aware of the Macrotexture type related to BIA-ALCL? If you do not know your implant’s shell type, it can be determined through an ultrasound examination. This can be verified by a doctor who specializes in implant assessments.
Do you know the position of your implant? The implant's location is crucial for surgical planning during revision surgery as it affects factors such as palpation, rippling, and animation deformity. If the implant is placed in a subglandular pocket, capsule removal is generally easier
If the texture feels firm, an ultrasound can be used to check for a thickened capsule to accurately diagnose capsular contracture. Additionally, assessing the presence of capsule nodules can help determine if there are symptoms related to BIA-ALCL. By evaluating the presence of a thickened capsule or capsule nodules, a plan for capsule removal during revision surgery can be developed.
After surgery, a small amount of seroma may persist, but it is important to monitor for any changes. If a large amount of seroma suddenly develops in a macrotextured implant, aspiration may be needed to differentiate BIA-ALCL. Additionally, delayed seroma formation can lead to capsular contracture.
The frequency of side effects can vary slightly depending on the implant manufacturer. Knowing the anufacturer and the breast implant shell texture type allows for personalized monitoring and differ-entiation of side effects, improving safety tracking. For textured implants, the manufacturer can be identified through ultrasound imaging.
Check the implant composition. The symptoms of rupture can vary depending on the material of the implant, and the implant composition can be iden-tified through ultrasound examination. For dual-chamber implants, determining whether a rupture has occurred may be more challenging.
Breast cancer screening typically involves mammography (MMG 2D or 3D). For women with dense breast tissue, it is necessary to add an ultrasound examination for a more thorough evaluation. In cases with implants, ultrasound can be used to detect early complications and obtain information about the implants. Mammography and MRI provide limited information about implants.
